You will join our Railway Department as our new Project Engineer (m/f/d) and will be part of our team. The Ramboll Rail Department Aarhus and the Rail Department Karlsruhe with 65 colleagues looks after public transport systems throughout Europe. Our departments offer a variety of national and international projects, including light rail projects in Aarhus, Kiel and the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link. Combining your expertise in railway engineering as well as your language skills, you will contribute substantially to the collaboration between Denmark and Germany, thus enhancing your CV with international experience. The starting point for this position would be based in one of our Danish offices, ideally Aarhus, with the opportunity to then relocate to one of our offices in Germany, such as Hamburg or Karlsruhe. That is an exciting opportunity to work on projects across 2 countries and live abroad.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (or comparable education)
  • Track design
  • Comprehension of standards and guidelines
  • 3D modelling
  • Reactivation and optimisation of existing railway infrastructure
  • Infrastructure planning for the new construction and conversion of depots
  • Technical and economic feasibility studies for new and existing public transport systems
  • Communicating with colleagues and departments in Denmark and Germany

  • Successfully completed studies in Civil Engineering, focusing on rail and transport
  • Ideally, you will have existing experience in the planning of light rail or railway projects
  • Experience with relevant software systems in the areas of CAD and BIM (e.g. MicroStation, OpenRail, PROVI, AutoCAD)
  • Strong cooperation and communication skills, specifically a strong grasp on German and English
